Wears Vally Restaurants vs Wears Vally Cabins

Ok so cabins in wears valley outnumber restaurants in wears valley. I went to meet with a Wears Valley real estate company, and I had to starve on the way there and on the way back. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant there? Or should I eat before leaving Townsend and Maryville Tn to go into Wears Valley Tn? Or Do I just eat in Pigeon Forge before I turn onto Wears Valley road. I think I am going to start writing about restaurants in the area and about smoky mountain restaurants. If anyone has any comments on a restaurant please let me know.

Brian King:

To my knowledge there are no restaurants in Wears Valley unless one has cropped up since Sept. '07 when I was last there. I'm going back in June '08 so I'll look again.

I go to the area twice a year and have traveled there for over 30 years. I could write a book about all the places I've eaten there. (but I won't here)

In Townsend there are several good places to eat. AJ's has the best open faced hot roast beef I ever ate among other things. The Carriage House has a great buffet also.

In Gatlinburg, Howard's Restaurant is fantastic as is The Cherokee Grille. The whole area has some of the best food I've found in many years of traveling.

But...I do agree...there is definately a need for a good restaurant in Wears Valley. You can get hungry there unless you know where the fudge candy store is on 321.

This was a very beautiful valley at one time without all the log cabins, etc. that now clutter it. There were even several moonshine stills dotted throughout, but, I guess that's part of the price we pay for prosperity?

Meanwhile, pack a lunch or eat before you go there unless you can make it on the candy?
